Public Meeting and Hearing Recordings

How to obtain recordings of public meetings and hearings facilitated by the Office of the Chief Clerk (OCC).

Online

MP3 versions of the formal comments portion of select public meetings and hearings facilitated by OCC on or after June 1, 2010, are available to stream or download on the TCEQ website. To access these recordings, please do the following:

  1. Go to the TCEQ Commissioners’ Integrated Database page.
  2. Fill out the "Search One: Status of Matter(s)" section of the form and click on the Search button. Tip: the best way to search is by permit number, which you can enter in the “TCEQ ID Number” field as shown in Figure 1.

  3. If you get no results, refresh the page and click on the “Open and Closed Items” button in the Step One section of the same form as shown in Figure 2. Then repeat your search.

  4. Once you've found the record you’re looking for, scroll down to the Activity Action List box and click on "Display All Activity Actions" as shown in Figure 3.

  5. If a recording of a public meeting is available online for this record, it will appear in this list as a hyperlinked "PUBLIC MEETING," as shown in Figure 4. If a recording of a public hearing is available, it will appear as a hyperlinked "PUBLIC HEARING."

  6. To stream the recording, simply click on the link. The MP3 should open and begin playing automatically in whichever program your computer uses to play MP3s (such as Windows Media Player, iTunes, or RealPlayer).
  7. To download the recording for later use, right-click the link, choose the appropriate save option, and choose a place to store the file on your computer. Depending on the speed of your computer and your Internet connection, your download should begin shortly thereafter.

Please note: Some of the MP3s are large, and therefore require a broadband connection to download in a reasonable period of time. If you have a dialup connection and only wish to listen to one of the larger files, your connection should be sufficient.
