Controlling Carbon Monoxide Pollution
Stationary source rules that are part of the State Implementation Plan strategy to meet the National Ambient Air Quality Standard for carbon monoxide (CO).
Controlling Emissions from Stationary Sources
- All counties in Texas currently meet the national CO standard.
- The El Paso area was previously designated nonattainment for the national CO standard, but was redesignated to attainment in 2008. Additional information is available in the current El Paso State Implementation Plan.
- The SIP strategy to maintain the national CO standard in El Paso relies on emission reductions from mobile sources. Stationary source rules are not currently included.
