Small Business Advisory Committees (SBACs)

The SBACs provide small businesses in Texas with a voice in the regulatory process, help promote environmental quality, and serve as forums to educate them on environmental rules and how to comply.

The TCEQ coordinates meetings where members comment on existing and proposed environmental policies and programs. Members include:

  • small business leaders,
  • environmental consultants,
  • representatives of trade associations, and
  • government organizations.

Committees currently operate in Beaumont–Port Arthur, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston Small Business Advisory Committee.

Information from SBAC meetings is passed on to members of the state's small business Compliance Advisory Panel to ensure that the needs of all Texas businesses are heard.
