Multi Sector General Permit (TXR050000) Renewal Period Begins
August 2026—TCEQ issued the new 2026 Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) effective Aug. 14, 2026. The MSGP regulates stormwater discharges from industrial activities.
To view the 2026 MSGP and resources for renewing your permit coverage, see our Stormwater MSGP for Industrial Facilities webpage.
Facilities that hold an active authorization under the 2021 MSGP, such as a Notice of Intent (NOI) or No Exposure Certification (NEC), have 90 days to renew their authorization. To renew your authorization:
- Develop and implement an updated Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan before renewing coverage.
- Submit your renewal application between Aug. 14, 2026, and Nov. 12, 2026, in STEERS and pay the $100 application fee.
If your facility no longer needs a MSGP authorization, then submit a Notice of Termination online before Sept. 1, 2026, to avoid the $200 annual water quality fee.
For help creating your STEERS account, see our Guide to Creating an Account in STEERS (RG-531a) or YouTube tutorial video on How to Setup an Account in STEERS. You must add the Storm Water General Permits (EPR_SW) program area to your user account.
