TCEQ Seeks Stakeholder Input on Upcoming Rulemaking Related to On-Site Sewage Facilities (OSSFs) and Occupational Licenses

September 2021 – TCEQ is holding five virtual stakeholder meetings in September and October to present and take comments on rulemaking for on-site sewage facilities and occupational licenses and registrations.

Stakeholder meetings are an opportunity for you to provide informal comments before formal rulemaking begins. These meetings resulted from petitions that seek to amend rules in Title 30, Texas Administrative Code, Chapters 285 and 30 to:

  • Make OSSF regulations more consistent with industry terminology and standards.
  • Help identify responsible parties, including definitions of TCEQ licensed individuals.
  • Create a new licensing and registration program for sludge pumpers.

To register, email Rules@tceq.texas.gov the date of the meeting you want to attend and your name, affiliation, email address, and phone number.

We will send instructions for how to participate two business days before the meeting to those who register. Anyone can view the meetings through the links listed below. All the virtual meetings are in Microsoft Teams and start at 6:00 PM CST. Register by September 15, 2021 if you want to speak during any of the meetings.

All comments should reference rule project number 2021-030-285-CE. We will review all comments we receive but will not formally respond. Submit written comments through October 11, 2021.
