Keep San Angelo Beautiful

Keep San Angelo Beautiful worked with many partners to create a series of used tire collection events in the community. To date they have collected, rolled, loaded, and stacked about 19,225 tires on over 25 eighteen-wheelers—more than 90% of which are being recycled and reused. Repurposed tires are used for tire-derived fuel, roadways, and products like tennis courts, stadium tracks, horse mats, and gardening products. Tires TO-GO drop-off events have attracted hundreds of volunteers over the past two years who enjoy team-building, camaraderie, and the opportunity to gain service hours.
