City of Snyder and Keep Snyder Beautiful, Snyder

TEEA 2026 Winner: Civic/Community

Keep Snyder Beautiful is a community-based organization dedicated to enhancing Snyder’s quality of life through litter reduction, recycling education, community cleanups, beautification projects, and community outreach. Since being formed in 2024, Keep Snyder Beautiful’s goals have been to increase recycling and reuse, reduce litter and illegal dumping, beautify and revitalize public spaces, empower local youth to care for their environment, and build collaborative partnerships with schools, businesses, and residents.

One of the organization’s most impactful cleanup efforts is “Take Back Sparkle City,” a resident-led cleanup program for large properties. Volunteers and city crews work together to help neighbors remove bulky waste and debris from residential areas. To date, “Take Back Sparkle City” has improved over 380 residential properties and removed more than 375 tons of solid waste from neighborhoods, directly reducing environmental hazards and improving the community’s appearance.

Other initiatives include the citywide “Trash to Treasure Garage Sale and Flea Market” and the “Annual Water Bottle Collection Challenge” at school campuses. Each initiative includes education, training, and outreach which has led to stronger participation and a deeper community impact.
