Stormwater Stakeholders Group (SWSG)

Participation in the SWSG
The SWSG is open to the public. Anyone who is interested in stormwater permitting may attend and participate in SWSG meetings. The SWSG currently has representation from water associations, river authorities, academic institutions of higher learning, petroleum and chemical industry, electrical utility industry, agricultural industry, consulting firms, law firms, engineering firms, consumer groups, environmental organizations, public and private treatment plant operators and managers, municipalities, industries, government entities, and individual citizens.
UPDATERenewal of the Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) TXR050000
TCEQ is in the initial stage of the process for renewing the TPDES Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP), TXR050000, which expires on August 14, 2026. Please note, this renewal is separate from the current amendment to the MSGP which will implement House Bill (HB) 1688 from the 88th Regular Legislative Session to prohibit quarries located within water quality protection areas in the Coke Stevenson Scenic Riverway from obtaining stormwater coverage under the MSGP and HB 2771 from the 86th Regular Legislative Session to expand the applicability for non-exempt oil and gas activities.
