Meeting schedule, agenda, summary of past meetings, and related information for this voluntary group that meets to discuss issues related to stormwater permits and requirements.

HOTRenewal of the Construction General Permit (CGP), TXR150000

TCEQ has renewed the Construction General Permit (CGP), TXR150000. The 2023 CGP has been issued with an effective date of March 5, 2023. Existing permittees have until June 5, 2023, to submit renewal applications under the CGP. For more information, please visit the Construction General Permit webpage.

Participation in the SWSG

The SWSG is open to the public. Anyone who is interested in stormwater permitting may attend and participate in SWSG meetings. The SWSG currently has representation from water associations, river authorities, academic institutions of higher learning, petroleum and chemical industry, electrical utility industry, agricultural industry, consulting firms, law firms, engineering firms, consumer groups, environmental organizations, public and private treatment plant operators and managers, municipalities, industries, government entities, and individual citizens.

UPDATERenewal of the Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) General Permit, TXR040000

On September 27, 2022, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) held a public stakeholder meeting to discuss the upcoming 2024 renewal of the TPDES Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) General Permit, TXR040000. The general permit authorizes discharge from stormwater from small MS4s and expires on January 24, 2024.

TCEQ presented preliminary proposed changes to the general permit and welcomed input from stakeholders. The recorded livestream and additional items from this stakeholder meeting are available in the table below.

UPDATETCEQ sent the 2024 Draft Phase II MS4 General Permit to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on March 22, 2023.
