North Bosque River Work Group

This page contains information about the meetings of the North Bosque River TMDL Work Group. The Work Group was created to consider next steps for implementing TMDLs to reduce phosphorus in the affected river segments (1255 and 1226). It was formed in October 2020 and completed its work in March 2021.

In all its projects, TCEQ gathers opinion and information from people who live or work in a watershed. TCEQ uses the term "stakeholders" to refer to individuals and organizations that use a water resource, or contribute or control pollution to it. This includes people who represent government, permitted facilities, agriculture, business, environmental, and community and private interests in the watershed.

About the Work Group

The North Bosque River TMDL Work Group was formed from volunteers in October 2020, at the direction of the North Bosque River TMDL stakeholders at their September 1, 2020 meeting. The purpose of the work group was to evaluate the success of TMDL implementation and develop recommendations for next steps in managing water quality in the North Bosque River. Meetings about the TMDL project were open to everyone; however, only work group members participated in voting or consensus decision making. Read more about the North Bosque River TMDL Implementation project.

Public participation in the work group required a significant commitment of resources and time from both TCEQ and stakeholders. This commitment was very important to the success of the North Bosque River TMDL project.
