Parameters Measured

Carbon Monoxide

Carbon Monoxide is measured in parts per million.

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, very toxic gas produced by the incomplete combustion of carbon-containing fuels, most notably by gasoline powered engines, power plants, and wood fires.

The eight-hour standard has been exceeded occasionally in El Paso during the winter months when very stable atmospheric conditions exist. The one-hour standard for carbon monoxide has never been exceeded in Texas.
