Occupational Licensing

NEW As of April 1, 2024, resiliency training will be required for ALL water operators. In response to Winter Storm Uri and Senate Bill 3 from 87th Texas Legislature, TCEQ has implemented a resiliency training requirement to address preparing for, preventing, and responding to weather emergencies and power outages. For details, please refer to the Guidance for Resiliency Training Requirements for Water Operators and Training Providers, (RG-637).

As of September 1, and as required by SB 510 of the 88th Texas Legislative Session, the following information for occupational licenses and occupational registrations is now considered confidential and will be withheld from public viewing: address (including city and zip code), phone number, and the content of the application deficiency letter.

COMING SOON! HB 1845 of the 88th Texas Legislative Session amended Texas Water Code Chapter 37, Occupational Licensing and Registration, to require TCEQ to establish, by rule, a provisional license for Class D Water and Class D Wastewater . Applications will be accepted as of 10/1/2023.
