Application Information

How can I find out what regulations apply to my underground injection well?

Find out what type of well you have and link to more information about regulations.

Where can I get an application for an injection well?

Find information at the following pages for deep well injection; for solution mining (uranium, sulfur, sodium sulfate); and for other injection wells, except for wells regulated by the Railroad Commission.

Can I file my application online?

To streamline incoming document processing and review, please submit applications, reports, and other documents to the Underground Injection Control (UIC) Permits Section electronically by email or via the new secure TCEQ Send site.

Please note:

  • For Class I and Class III permit applications, please continue to submit the required number of paper copies in addition to the electronic copy. 
  • All Class V applications and documents may be submitted electronically only, unless otherwise requested.

Submitting via Email

If the document(s) you wish to submit do not exceed 25 megabytes (25 MB), they may be submitted via email to 2UIC@tceq.texas.gov.

Submitting via TCEQ Send

If the document(s) you wish to submit is greater than 25 MB, submit them to 2UIC@tceq.texas.gov via the new secure TCEQ Send site. 

Do I have to pay an application fee?

Probably, but check the rule requirements.
