HOTNeTPPR Alternative Deadline for TPDES Pretreatment Annual Reports

EPA notified states on November 12, 2025, that an alternative compliance deadline for electronic submittals is allowed under 40 CFR 127.24 (f) which states that EPA may establish an alternative compliance deadline for electronic reporting when they are responsible for deploying the electronic tool. This extended deadline will apply to Texas NPDES permitting requirements as TCEQ waits for action from the EPA to incorporate the online form revisions into the Texas tool.

The NPDES eRule Phase 2 alternative compliance deadline for implementing electronic reporting with EPA electronic reporting tools is December 21, 2028.

Mandatory Pre-Application Meetings for Program Modifications

Starting January 1, 2021, the TCEQ Pretreatment Team will be requiring mandatory pre-application meetings on all nonsubstantial and substantial program modification submissions. This new process is being established in order to ensure that all of the appropriate information is included in the program modification submissions, and it will also provide the framework for open communication and time-efficient reviews. Please contact the TCEQ Pretreatment Team at WQPret@tceq.texas.gov to set up a pre-application meeting at least two weeks prior to the official submission of any nonsubstantial or substantial program modifications.
