Recreational Survey Report TCEQ completed a report of its Recreational Use Attainability Analysis for these water bodies.
Public Review of Recreational-Survey Report The comment period for the draft report concluded on February, 2016. After the comment period on the draft report closed, TCEQ used the comments to make an informed recommendation for the recreational-use category and criteria to include in the Texas Surface Water Quality Standards.
TCEQ Recommendations After finalizing the recommendations, TCEQ opened another public comment period that concluded on April 29, 2016. TCEQ recommended the contact recreation use on Sweetwater Creek remain primary contact recreation. TCEQ recommended that the contact recreation uses on Buffalo Creek and Paradise Creek be revised to secondary contact recreation 1. These use changes were included in the 2018 Texas Surface Water Quality Standards.
Final Outcome EPA approved recreation use changes for the following water bodies:

  • Buffalo Creek
  • Paradise Creek
TCEQ retained the primary contact recreation use on Sweetwater Creek.
