Waste Record Keeping
Guidelines and rules for keeping records about industrial and hazardous waste.
Guidelines to follow:
- Records must be kept for at least three (3) years from the due date of the report.
- Records can be kept in any format, including electronic, but they must be easy to retrieve and copy.
- The retention period may be extended by the TCEQ Executive Director for enforcement actions.
- Although not specifically required, it is a good idea to have a backup copy of all records.
Recordkeeping is required by Title 30 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 335 in the following sections:
- Generators: 30 TAC 335.9
- Manifesting: 30 TAC 335.10
