Guidelines and rules for keeping records about industrial and hazardous waste.
HOT You can now check the status of your IHW submission
sent by fax or mail. Get information about faxed submissions 1-2 business days after sending or mailed submissions 3-5 business days after sending.
Guidelines to follow:
- You must keep records for at least three (3) years from the due date of the report.
- You can keep records in any format, including electronic, as long as the records are easy to retrieve and copy.
- TCEQ's Executive Director may extend the retention period of records for enforcement actions.
- TCEQ recommends keeping a backup copy of all records, although doing so is not specifically required.
